Famous Landscape Photographs

What makes a good landscape photo? A good scenic background is often set off by something in the foreground such as a boulder, branch, or flowers. This gives the photograph depth. Placing the point of interest, or the horizon, off center is another technique. Use lines, such as a road, river, or fence, to lead the eye to the main point if interest. Many photographers wait until the hours of sunrise, late afternoon and sunset to photograph landscape in order to capture the golden glow of the sun as it ascends or descends. You can also photograph in bad weather. Rain-soaked colors can have an ethereal glow in photographs. If it is especially gloomy, try to find a spot of color on the landscape to use as your focal point. Try turning off your flash and using available light. Always use a tripod when aiming your viewfinder on a landscape.

That being said, what are some famous landscape photos? Ansel Adams is probably the most well-known American landscape photographer. He is most famous for his photographs of California's Yosemite Valley. Some photographers says that only nature scenes can be considered landscapes, but some of the most famous landscape photographs are of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, with the sun coming through the fog. China has many beautiful mountains and waterfalls; so many famous landscape photographs have been taken there. The Grand Canyon, in Arizona, is the subject of millions of landscape photographs, every year. The best vantage point is said to be from the South Rim. Another famous landscape is the snow-covered Grand Tetons towering over the Snake River and Jackson Hole at the Grand Tetons National Park, in Wyoming. There are many famous landscape photographers that can be researched online.
